Bernadette Ebony Brown

Bernadette Ebony Brown is a senior program specialist at National Center on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD) and the project manager for Improving Permanency for LGBT Youth. This project seeks to strengthen the connection between out-of-home LGBT youth and their families, so that these children will stop cycling in and out of the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Additionally, because the majority of LGBT youth in the juvenile justice system are youth of color, this project also explores the intersection of race, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The project is focused on Alameda, Fresno, and Orange counties in California.
