Ben Geilhufe, MA, LPCC has been an educator and advocate for the transgender community since beginning his own transition in 2006. He has contributed to policy reform for higher education institutions, non-profit organizations and larger corporations around gender identity, awareness, and inclusivity. He pursued his MA in counseling psychology to better serve gender-expansive individuals in their journey of identity exploration. Currently, he works as a therapist, trainer and consultant. Ben employs the gender affirmative clinical model to support gender-expansive individuals and their families. Ben is the co-founder and chair of Train the Gap, a group of gender specialists dedicated to training medical and mental health professionals around how to support individuals exploring their gender. He is on the Leadership Team of the Gender Specialist Clinical Team of the Central Coast, and is an active contributor to Mind the Gap, the Bay Area gender specialist team.
