Joe Wilson [he, him] is a filmmaker and long-time human rights activist. He produced “Out In The Silence,” an Emmy Award-winning PBS film about LGBT rights and equality in rural America, and “Kumu Hina,” a new PBS film about traditional Hawaiian culture's embrace of gender diversity. Wilson graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali. He lives with his partner in life and filmmaking, Dean Hamer, on north shore Oahu.
