This Q&A session is designed to provide an open forum in which participants can seek information and resources around a wide range of legal topics. What are the ways in which the Affordable Care Act can cover medical needs for transgender or other gender-expansive teens? How can I make sure my gender-expansive child can participate in sports or other activities? What are some of the legal issues I can anticipate if my child transitions gender? What are my child’s rights in a private organization such as the Girl Scouts? What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of trying to use the law to insure my child’s gender is respected? A panel of legal professionals who have been supporting gender-expansive children and teenagers and their families will explore questions that have emerged for you during the weekend, as well as provide resources for when you return home.
