Gender and Justice: Real Examples of Gender-Expansive Youth and their Encounters with the Justice System

From encountering an officer on the street or administration at your school to being locked up, gender-expansive youth have certain rights that are often violated in our justice system. Expand your awareness and leadership development about both the justice and education systems in our gender and justice workshop. With youth facilitators, this session utilizes film and discussion to reveal present day issues that funnel youth into the criminal/juvenile justice systems.


Tailani Crawford

Jazree Ridley

Jazree Ridley [she, her] is seventeen and attends San Leandro High. She has been with Project WHAT! since the summer of 2013. She has had one parent incarcerated. 

Moesha Wise

Moesha Wise [she, her] is seventeen and attends Emery High. She has been a youth advocate for Project WHAT! since June 2012. She will be attending Mississippi Valley State University in the fall of 2014.
