Gender and Sexual Orientation

This workshop will assist participants with understanding the relationship between gender and sexual orientation – how they are different  and how they are related. In what ways does gender impact a young person’s own notions of sexuality? How does sexual orientation inform understandings of gender? Participants will reflect on their own gender and sexual identity as a tool to better relate to and support youth on their journeys of identity exploration. An atmosphere of openness and safety will allow attendees to recognize areas in which they feel challenged, space to ask questions, and opportunities to learn from others’ experiences.
