You Have the Right to Be Yourself: Laws Affecting Gender-Expansive Youth in School

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Every youth deserves to go to school in a safe and supportive environment. The law can be an important tool for making this a reality in your school. This workshop will answer your questions about how the law protects you in school. For example, does your school have to respect your chosen name and preferred pronouns? Can you use the bathroom that is consistent with your gender identity? What about playing school sports? Does your school have to keep information about your gender identity confidential? Learn the answers and share your experiences in this workshop, led by experts from the ACLU and National Center for Lesbian Rights.
